WHAT IS COLLEGE AND CAREER NIGHT?

College and Career Night is a chance to meet university representatives from numerous public, private, and out-of-state colleges and universities. It is also an opportunity to meet instructors and representatives from academic and career programs who will help answer your questions as you plan your career path.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

College and Career Night is an opportunity for high school students, parents, transfer students and community members to talk with dozens of university representatives and career professionals.

WHERE DOES THIS TAKE PLACE? (Map)

  • Gym (Building 1100)
    Meet university representatives and learn about transfer
  • Welcome Center (SAC East)
    Learn about admissions, financial aid, student life and more. Current student ambassadors will be offering 10-minute campus tours.
  • Library (Building 1000) 
    Explore Cabrillo College 2-year programs including transfer
  • Cafeteria (Building 900) 
    Discover Career Education Programs offered at Cabrillo and in the community.

TRANSFER WORKSHOPS

How do I transfer to a 4-year university?
Cabrillo College counselors will discuss what it takes to transfer and pursue a bachelor's degree.

  • When: 6:30pm / 7:30pm
  • Where: Gymnasium, Room 1118

FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOPS

How do I pay for college?
Financial aid staff will walk you through the financial aid process.

  • When: 6:15pm / 6:45pm / 7:15pm
  • Where: Library, Room 1051 (2nd floor)

CAREER EDUCATION WORKSHOPS

Wondering What Career Technical Education Is?
Learn about the many programs available and how to complete a degree or skills certificate that can lead to direct employment in the field of your choice.

  • When: 6:30pm / 7:30pm
  • Where: Cafeteria, Room 913 (lower level)

HOW TO COME PREPARED?

Invite your parents! Make a list of the colleges and careers you want to explore with questions to ask and a notepad to record your answers and thoughts. Colleges and universities may ask you to fill out information cards. Be sure to bring notes and write down important information including application deadlines. Plan to attend the Financial Aid, Career Education, and Transfer workshops. They are offered multiple times throughout the evening for your convenience!
